TalkDub ("we", "our", "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that translates and voices over YouTube video subtitles. This policy describes what data we collect and how we use it.
Device fingerprint. We generate a non-reversible hash based on your browser and hardware characteristics (screen size, timezone, user agent). This hash is used solely for license verification and trial abuse prevention. We do not store your raw device information — only the hash.
License key. If you purchase a PRO subscription, your Gumroad license key is stored locally in your browser and sent to our server to verify your subscription status.
Subtitle text. When translating video subtitles, the text is sent to our translation server (Cloudflare Workers) and to Google Translate. Translated text may be cached on our server to improve performance for future users watching the same video. No personally identifiable information is attached to cached translations.
TTS audio. Translated text is sent to Microsoft Azure Text-to-Speech to generate voice audio. Generated audio is cached on our server (Cloudflare R2) to avoid repeated generation of the same phrases.
